Sterling man arrested on resisting, obstructing, disarming charges on Robin Road

A Sterling arrest on the 2000 block of Robin Road turned a routine police log entry into a public-safety concern after officers took Kenneth Brown, 57, into custody at 1:18 p.m. on March 30.

Brown was booked on charges of resisting arrest, obstructing a police officer and disarming a peace officer, a combination that suggests the encounter escalated beyond a simple stop. Resisting arrest generally means a person is accused of trying to hinder officers from placing them under control. Obstructing a police officer refers to interfering with an officer’s duties. Disarming a peace officer is the most serious of the three allegations and can mean an officer’s weapon or other equipment was taken, or an attempt was made to take it.

The arrest happened in the 2000 block of Robin Road, a residential stretch in Sterling where neighbors are likely to notice any police response that draws multiple charges. The brief police entry placed the incident in the department’s public record, giving residents a dated snapshot of enforcement activity on a street where most calls are far less severe than allegations involving an officer being obstructed or disarmed.
