VA tech support event coming to Sterling for Logan County veterans

VA technology support will come to Sterling on Monday, Aug. 10, giving Logan County veterans and their dependents a local place to get help with the online systems that can block care and benefits. The county lists the outreach as TECH4VETS and says it will be held at Sterling VFW Post 3541, a practical stop for residents who might otherwise have to travel to a larger city for assistance.

For many veterans in Sterling, Crook, Fleming and Iliff, the biggest obstacle is not the benefit itself but the digital step needed to reach it. Login troubles, identity verification, health portal access, appointment scheduling and other device problems can stop a claim or delay a telehealth visit before it starts. An in-person support session can reduce those barriers for older veterans, people with limited mobility and families helping a loved one navigate VA systems.

The Logan County Veterans Service Office says it provides information and assistance to veterans and their dependents, and the Aug. 10 event fits that local role. It also lines up with the VA’s broader outreach presence in eastern Colorado, where the department lists events through VA Eastern Colorado Health Care and operates a Sterling VA Clinic. For county residents, that means more than a single appointment date on a calendar. It means a closer place to solve problems that can otherwise turn into missed care, unanswered claims or another trip outside the county.

Sterling remains the main service hub for Logan County, and that makes a local VA tech support visit especially useful for rural residents who do not have time to sort through federal systems on their own. The event gives veterans a chance to get help in town, at a familiar post, rather than waiting for a separate appointment or driving farther for support that is often needed at the moment a password stops working or a portal locks them out.
