Los Alamos High School Freshman Semih Zeytun Named College Board BigFuture Ambassador
Los Alamos High School freshman Semih Zeytun was selected as a College Board BigFuture Ambassador for the spring 2026 cohort, local outlets reported Feb. 19–20, 2026.

Los Alamos High School freshman Semih Zeytun has been selected as a BigFuture Ambassador by the College Board for the spring 2026 cohort, LaDailyPost reported Feb. 19 and the Los Alamos Reporter published a matching notice on Feb. 20, 2026. The announcements identify Semih as a student volunteer chosen to join the national ambassador program.
LaDailyPost, in a submission credited to Carol A. Clark, described the program with the line, "The BigFuture Ambassador program is a community of high school students who volunteer to support their peers in planning for life after graduation." The local story says ambassadors promote college and career planning and direct students to the College Board’s BigFuture platform, which offers free tools for exploring careers, researching colleges and planning for financial aid.

The LaDailyPost item spelled out Semih’s expected duties locally: he will spread the word about college and career planning and steps students can take now using the BigFuture resources. The Los Alamos Reporter’s Feb. 20 notice reiterated the selection and identified Semih as a LAHS freshman, confirming both outlets carried consistent core details about the spring 2026 cohort pick.
Local reporting and district records show other instances of the Zeytun name in recent coverage, but none of the stories explicitly link those people to Semih. The Los Alamos Reporter ran a separate profile naming Sare Beste Zeytun, a 2023 LAHS graduate, who will study computer science at the University of Arizona on a full-ride award and local scholarships from the Kiwanis Club and Knights of Columbus. The Los Alamos Public Schools online directory lists a Neslihan Ceren-Zeytun as "Substitute Clerk & Admin Asst. - Maschal." The available items do not state a family relationship between Semih and those individuals.
The LaDailyPost page carrying Semih’s announcement also featured other local education items that illustrate campus engagement: a Feb. 19 post on LAHS NJROTC reported 32 cadets competed in Regionals in Sahuarita, Arizona, where the unit placed third overall after winning the Area 20 qualifiers in November and completing a pre-meet academic test; a Feb. 17 submission invited student entries to the Los Alamos Federated Republican Women 2026 U.S. Constitution essay contest.
LaDailyPost’s submission by Carol A. Clark and the Los Alamos Reporter notice together establish the selection of Semih Zeytun as a College Board BigFuture Ambassador for the spring 2026 cohort and place the announcement among ongoing local school and community college-preparation efforts.
