WV Health Right Mobile Dental Clinic Coming to Welch Community Hospital in March

Free dental care will be available at Welch Community Hospital next week when WV Health Right's mobile dental clinic rolls into Welch for a two-day stop on March 16 and 17, running from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The clinic provides no-cost oral healthcare to low-income West Virginians 18 and older, but appointments are not optional: anyone who wants to be seen must call 304-414-5929 to reserve a slot before showing up.

The mobile unit, operated in partnership with Marshall Health and the Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, carries state-of-the-art equipment and a clinical team that serves six counties across the state: Boone, Clay, Jackson, Logan, McDowell, and Roane. Welch Community Hospital is the designated McDowell County stop on the organization's published schedule, with the 10:30 a.m. start time specific to that location — other county sites begin as early as 9 a.m.

For anyone who misses the March dates or cannot get an appointment in time, the clinic returns to Welch Community Hospital on April 13–14, May 11–12, and June 8–9, all at the same 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. window. Earlier in the year, the clinic already visited Welch on January 20 and February 17.

McDowell County's schedule runs roughly monthly, making it one of the more consistent stops on the statewide circuit. The pattern reflects a broader effort by WV Health Right, headquartered at 1520 Washington St. E in Charleston, to reach rural communities where access to dental care has long been limited.
