Gallup Police Seek Public Help Locating Man Missing Since March 16
Lorenzo Charles Yazzie, 58, was last seen at a downtown Gallup bus stop on March 16. Downtown businesses are asked to pull surveillance footage now.

Lorenzo Charles Yazzie, a 58-year-old Gallup man, had not been seen for ten days when Gallup Police issued a public missing-person notice on March 26, asking the community to help locate him. He was last observed near a downtown Gallup bus stop on March 16, and investigators had not released any information suggesting foul play as of the alert's publication.
Yazzie is described as approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 162 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair. That specific combination of features, paired with his last known location at a high-traffic transit point, gives downtown witnesses a concrete image to work from.
Gallup Police and Metro Dispatch are coordinating the search and specifically asked businesses near the downtown bus stop to review their surveillance footage from the days surrounding March 16. Anyone who saw Yazzie at that location, along connected bus corridors, at a health center, or at any walk-in sheltering location is asked to call Metro Dispatch, even if the sighting seemed unremarkable at the time. Local organizations serving seniors and vulnerable adults were also put on notice to report any contact.

The ten-day gap between Yazzie's last confirmed sighting and the public appeal makes community memory and security camera footage among the most critical investigative tools available. Searches for missing adults in McKinley County frequently extend across multiple jurisdictions because the county's rural road network, limited public transportation, and wide service areas complicate efforts to trace a person's movements after they disappear. City, county, and tribal responders often work in parallel on such cases.
Gallup Police said they would release updates as new information emerged. Anyone with a tip can contact Metro Dispatch or the Gallup Police Department directly.
