Gallup police are asking drivers, neighbors and travelers to help find Robert Glenn Jackson Jr., 37, who was last seen April 8 at the 8-mile marker on Interstate 40, about eight miles west of Gallup. Anyone who saw Jackson, noticed a vehicle or activity near that stretch, or knows where he may have been headed should call Metro Dispatch at (505) 722-2002 or Gallup police at (505) 722-2231.

Jackson was described in a Gallup Sun notice April 28 as a white man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, about 180 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair. His clothing description was unknown. The notice said the case would be forwarded to the appropriate agency, signaling that investigators were still looking for immediate tips rather than a settled explanation.

The location makes the search especially important in McKinley County. Interstate 40 through Gallup is a major east-west corridor used by local commuters, truckers and long-distance travelers, and the surrounding terrain can make it harder to narrow down where someone may have been seen or where a vehicle may have stopped. New Mexico Department of Transportation milepost maps note that milepost signs provide approximate mileage along state-maintained routes, which makes the 8-mile marker useful but still broad enough that even a small observation could matter.

Jackson is also listed in the New Mexico Department of Public Safety missing-person clearinghouse as Robert Glen Jr. Jackson, with a date missing of Dec. 31, 2025, and a note that he was last seen in Gallup, New Mexico. The state clearinghouse serves as a central repository used by law enforcement agencies across New Mexico, giving officers and dispatchers a shared place to track missing-person information.

Gallup police say their patrol division provides police services 24 hours a day through McKinley County Metro Dispatch Authority non-emergency lines at 505-722-2002 or 505-722-2231. The department lists 60 commissioned officers, 10 public service officers and 6 civilian employees, a reminder that cases like this depend on public notice as much as police response. In a county where highway travel and remote stretches of road intersect every day, one call from a Gallup-area resident or passing driver could help close the gap in Jackson’s timeline.
