Crimestoppers Seeks Tips on Stolen Trailer Containing Motorcycles, Electric Bikes
A 24-foot enclosed trailer with a motorcycle mural on its side was stolen from Jacksonville's Yates Avenue; Crimestoppers is offering a cash reward for tips.

A 24-foot enclosed trailer loaded with motorcycles and electric bikes was stolen from the 200 block of Yates Avenue in Jacksonville between March 24 and March 27, and Crimestoppers of Morgan, Cass and Scott Counties is offering a cash reward for tips that lead to its recovery.
The trailer carries three identifying features that should make it recognizable: a motorcycle mural running across the left side, a drop-down table on the right side, and an air-conditioning unit mounted at the front. Jacksonville Police Department detectives are leading the investigation and enlisted Crimestoppers to widen the search beyond their patrol zone.
Whoever took the trailer had at least three days before the theft was discovered, enough time to push it well outside Morgan County or transfer the motorcycles and electric bikes to another vehicle. Enclosed trailers carrying high-value cargo are a known target because contents can be dispersed quickly at secondhand markets. Towing yards, storage facilities, and private sellers across central Illinois should watch for the trailer's distinctive mural.
Contractors and small businesses that depend on enclosed trailers can sharpen their protection against this kind of theft. Photograph all exterior markings now and store the images off the trailer. A coupler lock rated to the trailer's weight class raises the bar for a quick hitch-and-go theft. Chaining to a fixed anchor point overnight removes the option of a fast exit. Keeping the VIN recorded separately from the trailer gives investigators a match point if the unit resurfaces.
Anyone with information about the trailer's location, the motorcycles, or the electric bikes can call Crimestoppers anonymously at 217-243-7300. Tips are also accepted through Crimestoppers' website and Facebook page. All callers remain anonymous, and anyone whose tip leads directly to a recovery qualifies for the cash reward. The case remains active.
