Green Pastures Retreat Plans Spring Fundraiser at K's Creek Golf Club
Green Pastures Christian Retreat Center held a spring fundraiser concert at K's Creek Golf Club on March 22, raising money for summer camp scholarships.

A fundraising concert organized by Travis Deaver, president of the Green Pastures Christian Retreat Center board, brought together local musicians and the praise and worship group Two By Two at K's Creek Golf Club on Sandusky Road in Jacksonville Friday evening, with all proceeds directed toward summer camp costs and scholarships for children who could not otherwise attend.
The event, held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at K's Creek Golf Club and Kitchen 63 at 1265 Sandusky Rd., was put on jointly by Two By Two and K's Creek on behalf of Green Pastures, a long-running nonprofit serving churches and youth across west-central Illinois. Organizers described the financial goal in straightforward terms: "All funds will go toward Green Pastures and cover the expenses of the upcoming summer camps and for summer scholarships for any child who needs it to be able to come and experience God at our Green Pasture Camps."
The concert capped a two-day stretch of Green Pastures programming. The day before, on March 21, the retreat center hosted a free Spring Celebration and Easter Egg Hunt from 3 to 4:30 p.m., featuring donuts, drinks, crafts, story time, and what organizers advertised as "1,000s of eggs to find."
Green Pastures has a full spring and summer calendar extending well beyond this weekend. A Christian Student Leadership Camp is scheduled for March 28 at the retreat center. A Via De Cristo Women's Retreat runs April 9 through 12. Volunteer Work Days, open to participants of all physical capabilities with drinks and snacks provided, are scheduled April 25 and May 23. On May 8, local youth will perform in a free Vocal Showcase, with musical numbers prepared by their teacher, Mrs. Smith. The Performing Arts Camp 1 follows June 12 and 13.
Families interested in summer camps can reach out directly through the retreat center's website contact form, where staff will connect inquirers with camp directors. Scholarships are available for those who need financial assistance. RV and tent camping at the Green Pastures property is open seasonally; reservations can be made by calling Camp Host Lydia at 217-584-1374.
