Prairie Land Heritage Museum Institute Holds Annual Consignment Auction in South Jacksonville

The Prairie Land Heritage Museum Institute brought out bidders and bargain hunters to South Jacksonville on Saturday, March 14, as its annual consignment auction drew interest from collectors, farmers and household-goods seekers alike. The event kicked off at 9:00 a.m. and ran through the late morning.

The sale featured dozens of tractors, tools and household items spread across the consignment lineup. Farm equipment anchored the offerings, alongside a range of household items that rounded out the catalog for bidders with varied interests.

The Jacksonville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau, which listed the event on its official events calendar, described the auction plainly: "If you're interested in farm equipment, household items or just love to bid it up, the Prairie Land Heritage Museum Institute Consignment Auction is the spot for you!" Food was also on site for purchase throughout the morning.

The museum's name appears in local materials under two slightly different forms, "Prairieland Heritage Museum Institute" and "Prairie Land Heritage Museum Institute," with the two-word version used on the CVB's events listing.

The auction is one of several community events on the Jacksonville area's spring calendar. The CVB's events page, which carried the listing, is part of a certified tourism bureau endorsed by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity as one of only 37 such bureaus statewide. The Prairie Land Heritage Museum Institute has not publicly released lot counts, prices realized or a breakdown of proceeds from this year's sale.
