Albany Police Probe Washington Park Stabbing

A 14-year-old boy was stabbed multiple times at Washington Park on Friday afternoon, leaving Albany police searching for a suspect three days after the attack.

Officers responded to the park just north of the New Scotland Avenue entrance around 2:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found the teen with stab wounds to his legs and back. He was treated on scene by Albany Fire Department and emergency medical personnel before being transported to Albany Medical Center.

The Albany Police Department confirmed the victim was receiving treatment at Albany Medical Center and was in stable condition.

Washington Park, one of Albany's most visited public green spaces, sits in the heart of the city's residential west side. The Friday afternoon timing placed the attack during a period of typical foot traffic through the park.
