Ten people were taken to Chambersburg Hospital Saturday night after five vehicles collided in front of a Dairy Queen in Guilford Township, a wreck large enough to put every available ambulance in the area into service simultaneously.

The crash happened around 7:38 p.m. near the Walmart and Dairy Queen on the 1700 block of Lincoln Way East. Dispatchers reported up to 10 patients requiring transport, with all eight ambulances in service carrying them to Chambersburg Hospital.

Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department crews were among the first on scene, joined by EMS units from Chambersburg, Mont Alto, Marion, and WellSpan to handle treatment and transport. Pennsylvania State Police were called to assist, and the roadway near Tractor Supply was closed as crews worked the scene.

The specific injuries sustained by the 10 patients had not been publicly released as of Sunday. The cause of the multi-vehicle collision remained under investigation by state police.
