Man Fatally Shot Saturday Morning in Dallas Lake Highlands Neighborhood
A man was shot dead Saturday morning at 8000 Forest Lane in Dallas's Lake Highlands neighborhood, the corridor's fourth fatal or near-fatal shooting since October 2023.

Dallas police found a man dead at the 8000 block of Forest Lane in the Lake Highlands neighborhood of north Dallas just before 11 a.m. Saturday, the fourth shooting on that corridor to produce a fatality in less than three years.
Officers arrived around 10:40 a.m. and found the man deceased at the scene. His identity had not been publicly released by Saturday afternoon, and no suspect information was made available. The investigation into the circumstances of the shooting remained ongoing.

Forest Lane runs east-west through several north Dallas neighborhoods, with the 8000 block sitting in the predominantly residential stretch of Lake Highlands. The corridor has drawn repeated attention from Dallas police in recent years.
The most recent prior incident occurred November 19, 2025, when 23-year-old Christion Bingham opened fire on two people near a Walmart at the 9300 block of Forest Lane before dying of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Both victims were transported to a hospital in stable condition.
Earlier in 2025, on March 31, licensed security guard Napoleon Wingwood, 38, shot and killed Charles Harris, 37, at the 2600 block of Forest Lane while Wingwood was on patrol. Harris died at the scene. Dallas police referred that case to a Dallas County Grand Jury, which continues to review it.
The string of violence along the corridor traces back at least to October 2023, when 25-year-old Jamarkus Homes was shot and killed near the 10300 block of Forest Lane in far northeast Dallas following an argument.
Saturday's victim's name and the full circumstances of his death remain under investigation by the Dallas Police Department.
