Peel Police Arrest Two Teens After Handgun Pointed at Mississauga Student
A loaded illegal handgun was seized and two Mississauga teens, aged 15 and 17, were arrested after a firearm report sent a school and community centre into lockdown.

A 15-year-old and a 17-year-old from Mississauga are facing multiple firearms charges after Peel Regional Police seized a loaded illegal handgun at a community centre near Erin Centre Boulevard and Glen Erin Drive on February 25, an incident that triggered lockdowns at both a neighbouring school and the community centre itself.
Officers responded at approximately 1:40 p.m. after receiving reports of a student in possession of a firearm at a school in the area. Upon arrival, police determined the individual was not inside the school at all, but in the adjoining community centre. Investigators later identified the location as adjacent to St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School and the Erin Meadows Community Centre.
As a precaution, both the school and the community centre were placed into lockdown while officers moved in. Police took the two males into custody without incident and recovered the loaded, illegal handgun. Neither suspect was a student at the nearby school.
Peel Regional Police confirmed through further investigation that no threats were made and there was no indication either suspect intended to cause harm at either location. Both teens were charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and unauthorized possession of a firearm, among other related offences, and were held in custody pending bail hearings.
Anyone with additional information about the incident is asked to contact Peel Regional Police.
