Bronx man charged after New Windsor domestic stabbing leaves woman wounded

A woman survived a neck stabbing in New Windsor after officers reached her in time to control major bleeding at the scene, and Julio Munoz, 40, of the Bronx, was arrested on attempted murder and other felony charges.

Police said the assault began just before 3 a.m. on Saturday, April 25, at the Galaxy Motor Inn on Windsor Highway. When officers arrived, they found the victim bleeding from a severe cut to her neck, rendered life-saving aid, and then sent her to the hospital for further treatment. New Windsor Police were assisted by the Newburgh City Police Department and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors charged Munoz with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon, aggravated criminal contempt, and aggravated family offense, all felonies. He was arraigned and remanded to the Orange County Jail, turning a domestic call into a jail-bound felony case within hours.
