Regina Lee Roberts Smith, 55, of Prestonsburg Dies April 1

Regina Lee Roberts Smith, 55, of Prestonsburg died April 1, 2026, at Pikeville Medical Center. Born November 23, 1970, in Irvine, Kentucky, she had made her home in Prestonsburg in Floyd County, while her parents, two sisters, and the broader Roberts family remained in Booneville, in neighboring Owsley County.

Her father, Ronald Roberts, and her mother, Lucy Mae "Gene" Martin, are both Booneville residents. Her two sisters, Melissa "John" Brumelle and Deana "Gary" McIntosh, also of Booneville, are named among her survivors.

Her daughter, Candace Smith, lives in Prestonsburg, and her son, Axl Smith, lives in Alexandria, Kentucky. Both children survive her. She was also a grandmother to three grandsons: Treston Bowling, Atlas Smith, and Bradly Wells.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvine "Brow" Smith, and by her brother, Steven Roberts.

A graveside service will be held at a later date. Searcy Strong Funeral Home is handling all arrangements.
