Tell City Marksmen Edge Southridge Raiders 14-13 in Softball Thriller

Twenty-seven combined runs. One separating them at the final out. The Tell City Marksmen softball team held off the Southridge Raiders 14-13 on April 8, surviving a contest that was anything but comfortable and delivering one of the tightest finishes of the early 2026 season.

The Marksmen, representing Tell City High School in Perry County, never let the Raiders from Huntingburg pull ahead for good. Southridge pushed the game to the brink, pulling within a single run, but Tell City's offense had done just enough damage to withstand the rally. A 14-13 margin in softball is about as slim as it gets, and the Marksmen earned every digit of it.

The school's official athletics account recognized the team following the win, a reflection of a program that understands what it takes to grind through a one-run game against a capable opponent from Dubois County.
