Phillips County Opens Emergency Warming Center at Justice Complex During Dangerous Cold

Phillips County Judge Clark Hall activated an emergency warming center at the Phillips County Justice Complex on 1804 Martin Luther King Drive in Helena on March 12, giving residents a free, temporary refuge from a dangerous stretch of cold temperatures.

The Justice Complex, a familiar civic anchor in Helena, served as the county's designated shelter during the cold emergency. By designating the facility as a warming center, Hall made county infrastructure directly available to residents who lacked adequate heat or shelter during the frigid conditions.

The center offered no-cost access, removing any financial barrier for the most vulnerable members of the community seeking protection from the cold.
