Barricade Situation on Seat Pleasant Drive Ends With Man in Custody
A man was peacefully arrested around 11:30 a.m. after a barricade situation shut down Seat Pleasant Drive between 70th Place and 71st Avenue Saturday.
A barricade situation in the 6100 block of Seat Pleasant Drive ended peacefully Saturday morning when a man was taken into custody around 11:30 a.m., with no injuries reported, according to the Prince George's County Police Department.
Seat Pleasant Police were first on the scene, with PGPD officers assisting as they worked to communicate with a man inside a single-family home. An adult family member was also inside the home during the standoff, PGPD said.
The stretch of Seat Pleasant Drive between 70th Place and 71st Avenue was closed while the situation unfolded, and residents along the street were told to remain indoors until further notice. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and use alternate routes.

The man was arrested peacefully, and authorities described the situation as isolated. No injuries were reported to the man, the family member inside the home, or any officers on scene.
Officials have not released the man's name, his age, or any details about what prompted the police response. No charges had been announced as of Saturday morning. PGPD said updates would be provided as more information becomes available.
