Timothy Valentin, a 30-year-old Fort Washington resident and former Metropolitan Police Department officer, was indicted by an Alexandria grand jury on a sweeping set of felony charges including forceable rape, rape by incapacitation, forceable sodomy, abduction with intent to defile, adulteration of food or drink, and 15 counts of unlawful filming. Prosecutors and police from Alexandria and Prince George's County jointly announced the charges at a news conference in Alexandria on March 9, 2026.

The Alexandria indictment alone lists 32 counts: four counts of rape by force, four counts of rape by incapacitation, two counts of adulteration, two counts of sodomy, two counts of abduction with intent to defile, one count of aggravated sexual battery by incapacitation, two counts of sodomy by force or incapacitation, and 15 counts of unlawful filming. A grand jury had initially indicted Valentin in December 2025; Monday's action returned a superseding indictment adding three additional cases in Alexandria.

Investigators say Valentin, who also went by the aliases "Rico" and "Teo" with his victims, targeted women through dating apps and in-person encounters, then allegedly drugged them during dates and sexually assaulted them while they were incapacitated or unconscious. Surveillance footage obtained by investigators reportedly shows Valentin placing a white powder into a woman's drink before he allegedly raped her. Authorities recovered two terabytes of digital evidence from his cell phone.

Across the two jurisdictions where charges have been formally announced, Valentin is accused of four sexual assaults in Alexandria in 2025 and six sexual assaults in Prince George's County between 2024 and 2025. In Montgomery County, investigators allege he sexually assaulted a victim in Takoma Park in April 2025 after meeting her at Blue Sunday's Bar & Grill in Bowie and later traveling to Society Restaurant & Lounge in Silver Spring. Charges in Prince George's and Montgomery counties had not yet been formally announced at the time of the March 9 news conference.

Valentin served as an MPD officer from 2017 to 2022, when he resigned from the force. An MPD spokesman declined to say whether Valentin had been under internal investigation at the time of his resignation or to provide any reason he gave for leaving. Commonwealth's attorneys in Alexandria said that, as of the announcement, no cases against Valentin appeared to stem from his time as a D.C. police officer.

He was arrested in December 2025 and denied bond in January 2026. He remains in custody in Alexandria.

Takoma Park police said Valentin "has been known to use multiple aliases with his victims." At the March 9 news conference, a prosecutor addressed potential victims directly: "We see you, we hear you, and we will seek justice on your behalf."

Investigators believe additional victims exist beyond those already identified. Anyone who went on a date with Valentin, interacted with him, or believes they may have been assaulted is asked to contact Takoma Park police at 301-270-1100, Prince George's County police at 301-772-4908, or Alexandria police at 703-746-4444.
