Maryland Car Rally Task Force Disrupts Multiple Illegal Street Takeovers Across Region
A 19-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested with a loaded firearm in Camp Springs as Maryland's car rally task force broke up illegal street takeovers across Prince George's County.

Armed with a warrant list that stretched across nearly a dozen addresses in Prince George's and neighboring counties, the Maryland Car Rally Task Force and partner agencies dismantled multiple large-scale illegal street takeovers over consecutive enforcement operations, netting at least four firearm-related arrests and disrupting crowds that authorities estimated reached as many as 400 participants.
The most dramatic arrests unfolded at 6210 Allentown Road in Camp Springs, where state troopers stopped a black Dodge Charger and took both occupants into custody. The driver, Jossel Joan Maldonado Sanabria, 19, of Fayetteville, N.C., and his passenger, a 17-year-old from Falls Church, Va., were both charged with possession of a loaded firearm and transported to the Prince George's County Detention Center for processing.
Prince George's County Police Department separately charged 23-year-old Blake Miller of East Berlin, Pennsylvania, and 22-year-old Gus Roth of Hanover, Pennsylvania, following a joint operation with the Maryland State Police and regional partners. The specific charges against Miller and Roth were not disclosed in the department's announcement. Maryland State Police also reported two additional firearm-related arrests during its portion of the operation, though no names were provided.
Sources describe at least two distinct enforcement actions tied to this wave of activity. One operation ran from 10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 through 4 a.m. Feb. 22, spanning Prince George's, Anne Arundel, Montgomery, and Howard counties. A Maryland State Police press release describes a separate operation that began at 9:40 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, targeting five large-scale illegal exhibition driving events concentrated in Prince George's County, with enforcement at 4600 Hargrove Drive in Lanham, 15887 Commerce Court in Upper Marlboro, 9172 Hampton Drive in Capitol Heights, 12018 Indian Creek Court in Beltsville, and 812 Oregon Avenue in Linthicum Heights.
The February operation covered additional sites including 15606 Emerald Way in Bowie, 9500 Marlboro Pike and 6050 Fallard Drive in Upper Marlboro, 2600 Marble Court in Forestville, 7705 Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase, and 8582 Fenton Street in Silver Spring. Across the enforcement period, officers conducted eight traffic stops, impounded two vehicles, and issued 15 citations.

The takeovers carried consequences beyond traffic violations. Dash camera footage obtained by 7News showed a separate street takeover migrate from Prince George's County into Silver Spring, where participants vandalized and damaged two marked Montgomery County police cruisers. No officers were injured, but investigators are actively seeking the public's help identifying those responsible.
The task force conducting these operations brings together the Maryland State Police, and police departments from Prince George's, Montgomery, Howard, and Baltimore counties, Baltimore City, and the Maryland Transportation Authority Police. MSP's Washington-Metro and Central Region, which oversees Prince George's, Montgomery, Howard, and Carroll counties, coordinates the cross-jurisdictional investigative framework that makes multi-county operations of this scale possible.
Maryland State Police announced the results of the prior weekend's operations on March 10, 2026, underscoring that the task force views this enforcement posture as ongoing rather than reactive. The agency characterized the effort as a proactive operation targeting public roads, industrial zones, and parking lots throughout the region.
