PGPD Recovers Stolen Vehicle After Foot Chase in South Laurel
Two Pennsylvania men were charged after a stolen vehicle stop on Muirkirk Rd led to a foot chase, a crash, and the recovery of a loaded weapon during a PGPD anti-rally operation.

A traffic stop on a stolen vehicle in the 9500 block of Muirkirk Road in South Laurel turned into a foot chase and ended with two Pennsylvania men in custody, a weapon recovered, and charges filed following what Prince George's County Police described as an illegal late-night car rally operation.
Blake Matthew Miller, 23, of East Berlin, Pennsylvania, was behind the wheel when officers approached the vehicle. Rather than comply, Miller attempted to flee, striking multiple vehicles before bailing on foot. He was quickly apprehended. His passenger, Gus William Roth, 22, of Hanover, Pennsylvania, also tried to run but was taken into custody. Officers recovered a weapon and ammunition inside the car, which was subsequently impounded. Miller faces multiple traffic-related offenses. Roth was charged in connection with the firearm.
The arrests were part of a broader PGPD enforcement operation targeting illegal late-night car rallies in the county. During the operation, officers conducted eight traffic stops, impounded two vehicles, and issued 15 citations. Maryland State Police made two additional, separate arrests involving a firearm during the same operation.
Prince George's County Police Chief George Nader tied the arrests directly to the department's ongoing crackdown on the rally circuit. "These arrests reinforce our consistent message that illegal car rallies are extremely dangerous and will not be tolerated," Nader said. "My message is loud and clear: do not come into Prince George's County or any of our neighboring jurisdictions and engage in this dangerous and illegal behavior."

The incident was reported March 14. Specific charges against Miller and Roth, including statute citations and whether the stolen vehicle allegation will factor into formal counts, have not been fully enumerated in official charging documents released to date.
