Prince George's County State's Attorney Jackson Unveils Crime Data Dashboard, 2025 Report
State's Attorney Tara H. Jackson released her office's 2025 report March 9, teasing a public crime data dashboard coming to Prince George's County in the months ahead.

Prince George's County State's Attorney Tara H. Jackson released her office's 2025 End-of-Year Report on March 9, unveiling five new public safety initiatives headlined by a Justice Data Dashboard that will give residents real-time access to county crime statistics and neighborhood trends.
The report, issued from her office in Upper Marlboro, covers the first six months of Jackson's administration and lays out operational priorities for 2026. It is available at sao.mypgc.us/eoy25.
"This report reflects my Office's continued commitment to delivering justice with integrity transparency, and fairness," Jackson said in the official release. "During our first six months, we took meaningful steps to strengthen public safety, enhance accountability, build community trust, and implement smarter prosecution strategies that make our neighborhoods safer. This progress sets the tone for the work ahead. Our goal is to continue building an office that is data-driven, community-informed, and committed to protecting the residents of Prince George's County."
The Justice Data Dashboard, expected to launch within the coming months, will provide the public with real-time crime data and statistics, allowing residents to better understand trends and patterns in their neighborhoods. No precise launch date or technical specifications, such as which data sets will be included or how granularly it will map crime by geography, have been released.
Beyond the dashboard, the report outlines four additional initiatives. The truancy-focused R.I.S.E. program will target youth crime and school absenteeism, though no partner agencies or funding details were announced. A new conviction integrity referral process will allow past cases to be reviewed for potential wrongful convictions, with the procedural rules for that process still unspecified. Expanded community engagement efforts, focused on rebuilding trust between law enforcement and Prince George's residents, are also set to ramp up in the near future.

The most operationally detailed initiative involves coordination between the office's Strategic Investigations Unit and the Prince George's County Police Department's Gun Intelligence Unit. According to the county release, designated Assistant State's Attorneys have been assigned to support gun violence and gang-related investigations "to ensure rapid execution of search warrants, review of charging documents, timely collection of discovery, and legal guidance from the start of the investigation to conviction."
"We must work together as a community to address the root causes of crime and make our neighborhoods safer for all," Jackson said in a separate statement attributed to local coverage of the report.
Key questions remain unanswered, including which Assistant State's Attorneys are assigned to the Gun Intelligence Unit, what budget supports the new programs, and what metrics the office will use to evaluate success for R.I.S.E. and the conviction integrity process. The State's Attorney's Office has not yet indicated whether any of those details will be disclosed at a future briefing.
