Rockwall County Helping Hands opens new campus to expand services

Rockwall County Helping Hands has opened a new campus in Rockwall with an updated pantry, a health clinic and a thrift store that helps support operations. The expansion gives the longtime nonprofit a larger base for serving neighbors who need food, shelter or healthcare help across Rockwall County.

Helping Hands of Rockwall County has been providing help and hope since 1976, when the work began out of the trunk of a 1976 Ford Maverick. The new campus marks a major step for an organization that has grown from that makeshift start into a central safety-net provider for families, seniors on fixed incomes and residents facing short-term hardship.

The newer facility, identified earlier in 2025, includes an updated pantry, a health clinic and the thrift store that helps fund the nonprofit’s work. Rockwall County’s growth has increased pressure on local aid groups and made it harder for families to find one place that can address basic needs without sending them across town from office to office.

Its mission is serving food, shelter and healthcare needs in Rockwall County. The pantry is meant for residents who need food assistance; the clinic extends access to health support; and the thrift store adds a revenue stream that helps keep those services operating.
