Rockwall County Offices Adjust Holiday Hours, Affecting Public Services

Rockwall County announced a condensed schedule for county government operations surrounding the Christmas and New Year holidays, a notice that was posted on Dec. 19. The County Clerk's Office will close early at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 23 and on Wednesday, Dec. 31. The clerk's office will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 for Christmas and on Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day, with normal hours resuming on Friday, Dec. 26 and Friday, Jan. 2.

Vehicle registration customers should note that the Rockwall County Tax Office will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. Regular business hours will resume on the Fridays following those holidays. The vehicle registration operation is now located at 1101 E. Yellow Jacket Lane, Suite 110, Rockwall, TX 75087, and residents who need in person services should plan visits accordingly.

Public library services will be interrupted on the same holiday dates. The Rockwall County Library will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, and it will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 26. The library will also be closed on Jan. 1 and will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 2. The Elections Office will be closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 25, which could affect voters who require in person assistance or last minute county election business during the holiday week.

All other Rockwall County government offices will be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
