Royse City residents who still needed to pay a utility bill should not have relied on the city’s online portal while the outage continued. City officials said May 15 that the utility payment portal was experiencing a service interruption, and that the software provider was working to restore access as quickly as possible.

The timing made the problem especially urgent. Current utility bills were due Monday, May 18, 2026, and Royse City says all bills are due by 5:30 p.m. on the due date. The outage affected online bill paying, not the city’s broader utility service, but it still left customers with less time to switch payment methods and avoid a late bill.

Royse City said utility payments could still be made in person at 100 West Main Street inside the City Hall/Courts Building, by mail to PO Box 638, Royse City, TX 75189, or by phone at 833-535-7620. Utility Customer Service also can be reached at 972-636-2250 or utilities@roysecity.com for immediate help during normal business hours.

The city’s utility site is run through Municipal Online Services, connected with Tyler Portico, which explains why officials said a software provider was involved in restoring the portal. Royse City had also told customers online utility billing payments were available again after a software conversion announced Oct. 28, 2025, underscoring how the city’s billing system has already gone through a series of technical shifts in recent months.

City office hours for utility services are Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. For residents who do not want to risk missing the deadline, those in-person, phone and mail options remained the safest backup while the portal was down.
