Cottage & Main Gift Shop Opens Saturday on Bath's Front Street

Craig and Michelle Fusco will open Cottage & Main at 114 Front Street in downtown Bath on Saturday, bringing vintage home furnishings, unique gifts and Maine-made items to a storefront that sat quiet after its previous long-standing tenant closed.

The grand opening runs from 2 to 5 p.m. on April 11. Main Street Bath director Amanda McDaniel praised the Fuscos' commitment to the space, saying the couple would help restore life to a Front Street address that Bath residents had missed since the earlier business shuttered.

The merchandise mix at Cottage & Main reflects deliberate curation: vintage home pieces alongside Maine-made goods, positioned to draw both year-round residents and the warm-weather visitors who sustain Bath's downtown economy through spring and summer. The Fuscos chose the 114 Front Street location for its foot traffic, strong community identity and seasonal tourist draw.

The owners have been explicit about their respect for the building's history and for the neighborhood's expectation that a new business honor what came before. Regular hours will run Tuesday through Saturday, with Sundays included, giving Cottage & Main a seven-day presence during the months when downtown foot traffic peaks.

For Main Street Bath, which has actively marketed and supported the city's retail corridor, the Fuscos' arrival fills a gap left by the previous closure. Independent shops like Cottage & Main anchor the pedestrian mix that keeps neighboring restaurants and services viable. McDaniel framed the opening as a hopeful moment in Bath's continuing downtown recovery.
