Shawn Price will take the lectern at Casa San Ysidro this month for the first of the Corrales property's 2026 Second Saturday programs, a free series running 1 to 3 p.m. His April presentation focuses on the New Native Deal and the Navajo Code Talkers, opening what the Albuquerque Museum has framed as a significantly expanded season of public engagement at the Gutiérrez/Minge House on 973 Old Church Road.

The full 2026 lineup, announced March 30, stretches from spring workshops to a December lantern celebration and includes monthly programming, heritage arts workshops, open houses, and a "Time Travel" living-history event planned for October. Heritage Day arrives May 23, the Harvest Festival runs September 26-27, and Noche de Luces closes the year on December 5.

Between those anchor events, the calendar fills with hands-on offerings. June features an embossed tin-foil ornament workshop. A summer open house opens the site on July 11. August brings a colcha workshop, focused on the embroidered wool tradition practiced across New Mexico. November shifts to conservation, with a presentation on the ongoing restoration of an 1890s tin nicho from the site's collection.

April also includes Museum Guide Training for residents interested in volunteering as docents. The sessions cover the property's history, interpretive techniques, school tour facilitation, and program operations, providing a structured path for people who want to help share the site's significance with school groups and visitors.

Two ongoing series run throughout the year for participants who want sustained engagement. The Heritage Spinning and Weaving series and a Blacksmith Basics program, offered in partnership with UNM Continuing Education, require advance registration. The Friends of Coronado and Jemez Historic Sites will support events across the calendar with concessions and volunteer assistance.

Many Second Saturday programs are free; specialized workshops may carry registration fees. Schedules, registration links, and volunteer information are available through the Albuquerque Museum's program calendar. Casa San Ysidro is at 973 Old Church Road in Corrales.
