Disney on Ice returns to Rio Rancho Events Center in October
Disney on Ice will bring six shows to Rio Rancho in October, and the real draw is the family night out that can ripple from the arena to local restaurants and shops.

Families in Sandoval County will get another big-ticket outing at the Rio Rancho Events Center this fall, when Disney on Ice presents Find Your Hero skates into town for six performances from Oct. 2 through Oct. 4. The run gives parents in Rio Rancho, Bernalillo and Corrales a closer option than driving to Albuquerque or Santa Fe for a major family attraction, with Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and other Disney characters set to anchor the show.
The venue’s calendar lists a Friday, Oct. 2 performance at 7 p.m., then three Saturday shows on Oct. 3 at 10:30 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The weekend closes with two Sunday performances on Oct. 4 at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. A pre-sale window runs through Monday, May 18 at 11:59 p.m., and general on-sale begins Tuesday, May 19 at 10 a.m. Tickets are available through the Rio Rancho Events Center box office and Ticketmaster.

For many families, the outing will be about more than admission alone. The venue says parking is abundant and usually free for most events, which helps keep the cost from climbing even higher, but a night out still adds up once tickets, concessions and the rest of the trip are folded in. That matters in a county where parents often weigh the price and time of a drive before committing to a show. A Disney on Ice booking gives Sandoval County households a recognizable name without leaving the metro area, and it is the kind of event that can turn into dinner, dessert or a stop at nearby businesses before or after the performance.
The return also underscores how the Rio Rancho Events Center is being used as a regional entertainment anchor. The city-owned venue, managed by Oak View Group, says it has 165,000 square feet of extended floor space, 27 suites and four party suites, and is designed for concerts, sporting events, family shows, conferences, banquets and cultural programs. Located at 3001 Civic Center Circle NE, about 30 to 45 minutes from downtown Albuquerque, the arena has built a calendar that includes AEW Dynamite & Collision, Grupo Frontera, Brantley Gilbert, Johnny Blue Skies & the Dark Clouds and Sesame Street Live! later in 2026.
That steady stream of bookings gives Rio Rancho a dependable fall crowd and keeps traffic moving around the venue when school is back in session and families are looking for weekend plans. For nearby restaurants, shops and service businesses, a Disney on Ice weekend can mean a short but meaningful burst of foot traffic tied to one of the most familiar names in family entertainment.
