Local Big O Technician Named National ASE Master of the Year
Nathan Warshawsky of the Rio Rancho Big O Tires was named the franchise system's 2025 Automotive Service Excellence Master Technician of the Year, an honor announced on December 16. The recognition highlights Sandoval County's skilled labor base, and it signals stronger consumer confidence and potential business gains for local automotive services.

Big O Tires announced on December 16 that Nathan Warshawsky, an automotive technician at the Leeds West operated Rio Rancho location, was selected as the franchise system's 2025 Automotive Service Excellence Master Technician of the Year. The award was presented as part of ASE's annual Service Professionals Awards held at The DeSoto in Savannah, Georgia, where Warshawsky was one of 56 automotive professionals recognized nationwide.
Warshawsky brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, including 11 years at the Rio Rancho Big O Tires. He has been ASE certified for 18 years and has earned ASE Master Certification, a credential that signals advanced technical competence across multiple automotive disciplines. He also holds an Associate of Occupational Studies degree from Universal Technical Institute. ASE selects qualified technicians using criteria that include ASE test scores, dedication to customer satisfaction, community involvement and other professional measures.
For Sandoval County residents the recognition matters for practical reasons. ASE Master Certification and this national award indicate a high level of diagnostic skill and repair quality, which can reduce repeat repairs and improve vehicle safety for drivers who rely on local shops. Local consumers who prioritize certified service may be more likely to choose the Rio Rancho Big O Tires, supporting local employment and revenue. For the shop, having a nationally recognized technician bolsters its reputation in a competitive market and may help attract both customers and trained job applicants.

The award also underscores broader workforce trends in the auto repair industry. As modern vehicles become more complex, certification and continuous training are increasingly important for service accuracy and liability management. Local employers that invest in staff certification strengthen the area economy by retaining skilled workers and by improving service standards that affect daily commuting and business logistics.
Warshawsky's recognition provides a tangible example of how professional credentials translate into community benefits, from safer roads to a more robust local services sector.
