Blake Hattaway will serve as Resident Trustee of the Altamonte Springs Police Officers' Pension Plan Board of Trustees after the city commission voted unanimously to appoint him at its March 17 regular meeting, filling out the remainder of a term left vacant by Williams and running through December 31, 2028.

City Clerk Angela Apperson submitted the appointment request, which City Manager Franklin W. Martz, II approved before it went before the commission. Hattaway steps into a four-year seat that, under the original timeline, will not be up again until the final day of 2028.

The commission also cleared two finance items the same evening. The Finance Department received authorization to dispose of city equipment and machinery deemed obsolete by various departments, with undamaged items slated for auction through George Gideon Auctioneers, Inc. at a commission rate negotiated by Seminole County. The approval request for the disposal was submitted by Culver and signed off on by Martz. All proceeds from the auction will be deposited into the appropriate city fund, with any remaining items disposed of separately.

The second finance item awarded a printing services contract under bid solicitation ITB-26-045-KY to Paragon Products, Inc. dba Creative Printing & Publishing. The contract award to Paragon carried an approximate value of $41,343.

Rounding out the evening's substantive business, the commission approved Resolution 1476, which authorizes Supplemental Agreement No. 1 to the city's Local Agency Program agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation covering the Spring Lake Trail Project. The resolution cleared as a public hearing item, the only one on the March 17 agenda.
