Altamonte Springs Commission Unanimously Approves Consent Agenda, Elections IGA, Easement Purchase
An intergovernmental agreement keeping Seminole County in charge of Altamonte Springs municipal elections and an easement at 729 Little Wekiva Circle were approved unanimously.

An intergovernmental agreement preserving Seminole County’s administration of Altamonte Springs municipal elections won unanimous approval, with commissioners stressing the vote would not alter where or how residents cast ballots. The agreement preserves county responsibility for ballot preparation, polling locations, vote counting and compliance with state election law, city meeting materials show.
At its Feb. 3 regular session the Altamonte Springs City Commission also approved all items on the consent agenda and two other public hearing items without dissent. “All items on the consent agenda were unanimously approved,” the meeting record states, and “the commission considered three public hearing items, all of which were approved unanimously.”
One public hearing authorized the city to acquire an easement on property at 729 Little Wekiva Circle from owners Raymond and Donna DeMartino. The agenda packet describes the transaction as an easement acquisition “for public purposes.” The commission’s action cleared legal authorization to proceed; the meeting materials did not disclose a purchase price or the funding source for the easement.
The final public hearing item was an appointment to a citizen board. Eric Henry was named to replace Robert Goffman, an appointment the commission said “filled the vacancy and allowed the board to continue operating without interruption.” The vote to appoint Henry was unanimous.

The Feb. 3 actions follow a string of recent commission votes that shape Altamonte Springs’ near-term planning and emergency-response posture. On Jan. 7 the commission adopted an update to the five-year Capital Improvement Program on second reading under Ordinance No. 18-30-25, revising the CIP planning horizon to fiscal years 2025–2029. That meeting packet also records authorization for the city manager to execute a federally funded subaward with the Florida Division of Emergency Management related to Hurricane Milton response and acceptance of an Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant earmarked to purchase police load-bearing vests and accessories. City Manager Frank Martz later “recognized the emergency management team, noting it was a daunting task. He emphasized they did a wonderful job with the assistance of a great intern,” the Nov. 18 minutes record.
The commission’s unanimous pattern continued through prior budget actions as well; minutes from Sept. 18, 2025 show adoption of a final millage rate of 4.0 mills for Fiscal Year 2025/2026.
The Feb. 3 meeting record indicates the commission moved these routine governance items without debate, but it does not include roll-call vote tallies or certain fiscal details for the easement. City Clerk records and the official Feb. 3 minutes will carry the formal vote roll calls and any contract exhibits that specify compensation or legal descriptions for the easement at 729 Little Wekiva Circle.
