Seminole County and Longwood fire crews knocked down a fully involved single-wide mobile home fire on Helen Street in Aspen Village, keeping flames from spreading through the tight Casselberry neighborhood. The fire was reported at about 3:41 p.m. on April 14, 2026, and responders stayed on scene afterward to check for remaining hot spots.

The blaze hit a mobile-home community where homes sit close together, raising the stakes for nearby residents on Helen Street. Crews from the Seminole County Fire Department and Longwood Fire Department contained the fire to the single home, and overhaul was underway after the flames were extinguished. No nearby structures were reported to have caught fire.

Dispatch audio later indicated the fire was out and crews were still working the scene, while the state fire marshal was notified as part of the response. The fire serves as a reminder of how quickly a mobile-home fire can turn dangerous in a compact neighborhood and how much depends on fast coordination between departments.

The response also comes as Seminole County is investing heavily in its Casselberry fire coverage. County leaders are replacing Fire Station 25 with a $12.2 million facility, saying the current station, built in 1975, has outgrown the demands of the area it serves.

Fire Station 25 now covers about 16,000 residents across more than four square miles along the State Road 436 corridor, and county officials say its call volume has climbed 35% over the past decade to more than 5,400 calls a year. District 4 Commissioner Amy Lockart said the station sits in the heart of her district, and Chief Matt Kinley said the new building is designed to support the next 50 years of growth.

County officials expect the new Fire Station 25 to open in 2027, a timeline that reflects how fast emergency demand is rising in one of Seminole County’s busiest service areas. For Aspen Village residents, Monday’s fire showed the value of that kind of response network in real time, when a fast-moving mobile-home blaze was stopped before it could sweep through the rest of the street.
