Camp Invention will bring a week of hands-on building and problem-solving to Jamestown High School, with sessions set for June 1-5, 2026 at 1509 10th Street North East. The camp is open to children entering grades K-6, with camper tuition listed at $285 and camp hours set from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The National Inventors Hall of Fame says the program is designed as a summer day camp filled with STEM challenges led by qualified local educators. This year’s curriculum includes four themed experiences: Fur-ensics™, Make Waves™, Space Morphers™, and The Infringers™. The activities range from forensic science and entrepreneurship to rocket-building and protecting inventions, giving kids a chance to test ideas with their hands instead of only reading about them in class.

For older students, Camp Invention also offers Leaders-in-Training spots for grades 7-9 at $185. In that role, middle schoolers help lead campers in grades K-6 through the STEM experiences, giving them a chance to build confidence and practice leadership while staying connected to the same kind of creative work that drives the younger group.

The camp’s local presence matters in Stutsman County, where Jamestown serves as the county seat in a region organized in 1873. The county covers 2,298 square miles and had a population of 21,593, a reminder that many families live far from larger enrichment centers and rely on programs that come to them. A one-week camp at Jamestown High School can fill a practical gap for rural families looking for affordable summer activities that also teach persistence, adaptability and creative problem-solving.

Camp Invention runs in more than 1,500 locations nationwide, but the Jamestown program offers something distinctly local: a chance for children in Stutsman County to invent, experiment and collaborate close to home. Payment plans are available up to eight weeks before camp starts, giving families another way to manage the cost while keeping a summer slot open for hands-on learning.
