Devils Lake star Wylee Delorme commits to University of Jamestown basketball
Devils Lake standout Wylee Delorme is heading to Jamestown after a state title run, bringing 1,000-point scoring, MVP honors and Native representation to the Jimmies.

Wylee Delorme, the Pembina Littleshell/Sioux guard who helped put Devils Lake basketball back on top, has committed to the University of Jamestown for his junior season. The move sends one of North Dakota’s best-known recent prep stars to a Stutsman County program that has been building under head coach Casey Bruggeman.
Delorme’s name has carried weight in Devils Lake since he hit 1,000 career points on Feb. 29, 2024, in an 80-69 win over Thompson. A few weeks later, he helped lead Devils Lake to its first boys’ basketball state championship in 99 years and was named the 2024 Division A state tournament MVP. He also became a finalist for North Dakota Mr. Basketball and earned a place on the North Dakota Lions All-Star roster, a run of honors that turned him into a familiar figure to basketball fans across the state.
His college path has moved quickly. Delorme first committed to the University of Mary in 2024, then transferred to the University of North Dakota in March 2025. At UND, he played in 20 games and averaged 1.9 points and 8.1 minutes per game. He shot 14-for-33 from the field, 42.4%, and 5-for-17 from 3-point range, while adding 1.1 rebounds per game and going 5-for-11 from the free-throw line. He announced on April 1, 2026, that he was entering the transfer portal again, then revealed Jamestown as his next stop.
For Jamestown, Delorme arrives as more than a box score addition. The University of Jamestown competes in NCAA Division II and the NSIC, and the school has invested in renovated and new athletic facilities since 2017 as it has pushed to strengthen the link between its teams and the community. Bruggeman, hired in March 2024, now gets a guard with championship experience, statewide recognition and a résumé that already includes a 1,000-point milestone.
Delorme’s transfer also adds another Native athlete to a visible college stage in North Dakota. For a program that wants to matter in Jamestown and beyond, his arrival brings both talent and a connection to the communities that have followed his rise since his Devils Lake days.
