Elkettes Donate Toys and Funds, Boost Holiday Support in Jamestown
On December 27, 2025 the local Elkettes met in Jamestown and donated toys, crafts and other items to Camp Grassick. The group also committed additional charitable funds and formed a donation committee to distribute Christmas gifts to local organizations, a move that will help meet seasonal needs for vulnerable residents across Stutsman County.

Members of the Elkettes gathered in Jamestown on December 27, 2025 to deliver toys, crafts and other donated items to Camp Grassick. Camp Grassick director Dan Mimnaugh attended the gathering and thanked the Elkettes for their continued support. At the meeting the club agreed to make further charitable donations and to create a donation committee charged with allocating future funds to local organizations.
The committee named several recipients for this year s Christmas donations, including the Anne Carlsen Center, Alpha Opportunities Inc. and the Salvation Army in Jamestown. These recipients serve residents with disabilities, families in crisis and households needing basic support during the winter months, roles that multiply the impact of the Elkettes gifts beyond toys and crafts.
Local volunteer efforts such as this affect public health and community wellbeing in ways that go beyond immediate material relief. Donations to camps and social service groups bolster programs that support social connection, mental health and equitable access to services for people who face barriers to care. For families and individuals who rely on community programs during the holidays, additional resources can ease food and housing strain, reduce stress for caregivers and help sustain year round services.
Forming a standing donation committee creates a more deliberate approach to distributing charitable dollars in Stutsman County, aligning giving with community needs and improving transparency about recipients. By naming organizations that provide disability services and emergency assistance, the Elkettes demonstrated attention to equity and to populations that often receive less philanthropic attention.
Community leaders and service providers say coordinated local philanthropy helps stretch public and nonprofit resources during high demand months. For Jamestown residents this support is tangible this holiday season, and it underscores the power of volunteer networks to supplement formal social safety nets. As charitable groups wrestle with increasing need and constrained budgets, community driven donations like those from the Elkettes remain a vital part of a resilient local safety net.
