High-Risk Sex Offender Christopher John Simon Registers Jamestown Address

Christopher John Simon, 42, has registered an address at 1009 5th Ave. NE in Jamestown, and the Jamestown Police Department notified the public of his presence in a community notice published March 21.

Simon is listed on the North Dakota state sex-offender registry and has been designated a high-risk offender by the North Dakota Sex Offender Risk Assessment Committee, a body operating under the Office of the Attorney General. He was convicted of gross sexual imposition involving a 7-year-old girl in Walsh County Juvenile Court in 2001. Police stated that Simon is not wanted at this time and has served the sentence imposed by the court.

Simon is 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighs 175 pounds and has blue eyes and brown hair. He does not drive a vehicle.

The Jamestown Police Department emphasized that the notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, and that the information should not be used to threaten, assault, or intimidate Simon. The department warned that attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten the offender, his family, landlord, or employer will be turned over for prosecution.
