Jamestown Announces Cabin Fever Days Schedule and Family Events Jan. 30–Feb. 8
Jamestown announced Cabin Fever Days with family activities and fundraisers; dates and some event times vary by source, so residents should confirm plans with Jamestown Parks and Recreation District.

Jamestown Parks and Recreation District has rolled out a slate of family-oriented events billed as Cabin Fever Days, offering indoor and outdoor activities, fundraisers and youth-friendly programming that aim to keep neighbors active through winter. Sources list two date ranges for the festival window, so residents should verify specific event times before traveling.
CSi News and Jamestown Parks and Recreation District listings present the festival as running Jan. 30 through Feb. 8, while Jamestown Sun coverage frames highlights during Feb. 4-11. Either span includes headline events such as an indoor kickoff and community competitions that matter for families, school-age kids and older adults looking for low-cost local recreation and social connection.
The season opener is an Indoor Snowball Fight at the TRAC Bubble. Jamestown Parks and Recreation District promotes the event with this invitation: “Kick off Cabin Fever Days with a flurry of fun at TRAC! Join us for an Indoor Snowball Fight inside the TRAC Bubble, with come-and-go action between 4:00–7:00 PM. Open to all ages, this event is perfect for friends, families, and anyone ready to run, throw, and dodge their way through a blizzard of soft snowballs. We’ll even have a special area where little ones can practice their aim at fun targets. Don’t miss this cool way to warm up your winter!” The activity is free for TRAC members; non-members may use a day pass.
Family sports and fundraiser events follow. Csinewsnow describes the Big P I G Tournament for parent-child teams at 1:00 p.m. Feb. 1: “Families are invited to take part in the Big P I G Tournament on February 1, 2026, at 1:00 pm. This event puts a fun twist on the traditional basketball game of P I G by featuring parent and child teams. Any parent figure combination is welcome, including mother and son, father and daughter, or other family pairings.” Entry is $20 per team and proceeds go to the JPRD Scholarship Fund; the same source contains mixed information about registration windows, noting both that “registration will open soon” and that brackets will be made after registration closes on Jan. 23.
Jamestown Sun lists a co-ed kickball tournament set for 2:00 p.m. Feb. 4 in the TRAC bubble, with rules and registration as reported: “Also scheduled at 2 p.m. on Feb. 4 is a kickball tournament at Two Rivers Activity Center. The tournament is co-ed, with eight to 12 people on a team; three on the team roster must be female, Mewes said. Participants must be age 16 and older for the single-bracket elimination tournament that will be located in the bubble at TRAC. The registration deadline is Jan. 31; the cost is $80 per team. Register online at Jamestown Parks and Recreation District or at the TRAC front desk.”

Winter sculpture events at Hansen Arts Park appear in multiple sources with conflicting dates. Csinewsnow invites “Snow artists of all ages” to a Snow Sculpture Competition on Feb. 7 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., noting the contest “requires at least five inches of snow on the ground in order to take place.” Jamestown Sun reports a related snow castle competition at Hansen Arts Park from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, and attributes that schedule to Tammy Mewes.
Other family offerings include White Elephant Bingo at The Bunker Feb. 8, where organizers say, “Each white elephant gift you bring can be exchanged for a bingo card.” The Bunker also hosts a rescheduled pinochle tournament moved to Feb. 11; as Jamestown Sun notes, “A pinochle tournament originally scheduled for Feb. 12 at the Bunker has been moved to Feb. 11, Mewes said. The tournament begins at 10 a.m. The cost is $10 per person, and Feb. 8 is the deadline to register at the Jamestown Parks and Recreation District office, where details on the location for the event will be provided.” A sled building competition has been postponed due to lack of snow, and a Csinewsnow headline references Duck Races at the TRAC Pool without a date in the available excerpt.
Beyond recreation, the schedule includes low-cost and free options that matter for household budgets and equitable access. The Big P I G Tournament supports the JPRD Scholarship Fund, Souper Saturday run by the Elketttes offers $5 early tickets and $7 at the door, and several activities allow registration at the TRAC front desk rather than requiring online payment.
Because sources list alternate festival windows and differing dates for the Hansen Arts Park contests, residents should confirm final times and weather-dependent changes with Jamestown Parks and Recreation District or Tammy Mewes. For registration, vendor or sponsorship questions call the Parks Office at 701-252-3982, email pse@jamestownparksandrec.com for vendor forms, or office@jamestownparksandrec.com for sponsorship inquiries. The coming days will show whether Cabin Fever Days becomes a dependable winter lifeline for connections across Jamestown neighborhoods, or whether snow and scheduling will reshape plans at the last minute.
