Jamestown Planning Commission cancels April 13 meeting, no new business
A quiet agenda kept Jamestown’s Planning Commission off the calendar April 13. No zoning or rezoning cases moved forward, and the next meeting was set for May 11.

A lack of new business kept Jamestown’s Planning Commission from meeting April 13, leaving no application, variance, rezoning or site-plan item ready for public review that morning. The city said the session, scheduled for 8 a.m., was canceled because there was nothing new for commissioners to consider.
For residents, property owners and developers watching land-use issues, the cancellation meant any pending planning matter had to wait. There was no hearing to attend and no action to take on April 13, which made the next regular meeting, now set for May 11 at 8 a.m., the first available date for new business to come back before the commission. The empty agenda also signaled that Jamestown’s planning pipeline was light rather than tied to any controversy or emergency.

The city listed the canceled meeting at City Hall, 102 3rd Ave SE, Jamestown, ND 58401, and marked it open to the public. Agenda access was available through the city website or by emailing info@jamestownnd.gov, giving residents a way to track what was, and was not, moving through the process.
The April cancellation followed a similar notice for the March 9 Planning Commission meeting, which was also called off for the same reason: no new items of business. At that point, the city had pointed to April 13 as the next regular meeting date. Instead, the commission stayed off the calendar again, underscoring a short stretch in which no land-use cases were ready for review.
That kind of quiet can look minor, but it matters in a growing community like Jamestown. When the commission has nothing to hear, housing questions, zoning requests and neighborhood concerns simply wait their turn. For now, the city’s planning calendar shows a pause, not a dispute, and the next chance for public review is May 11 at 8 a.m.
