Kyle Schumacher of Eckman's Auto Service Wins Chamber's March Customer Service Award
A Jamestown mechanic helped a customer with a physical limitation drive safely again by adjusting an accelerator pedal multiple times until it felt right.

Kyle Schumacher of Eckman's Auto Service has been named the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce's March Customer Service Award recipient, recognized for hands-on problem-solving that restored a customer's ability to drive safely.
The award, presented by the Chamber Ambassador Committee, came after a customer nominated Schumacher for adapting a vehicle to meet their specific physical needs. The customer explained that a physical limitation had prevented them from driving safely, and that Schumacher's approach transformed what had been a stressful situation. "He listened carefully to my concerns and ideas, assessed the situation, and adjusted the accelerator pedal multiple times, each time asking me to test drive and give feedback," the nomination stated. The customer credited Schumacher's "creativity and patience" for reaching an outcome where they now feel "safe and comfortable" behind the wheel.
Rather than offering a single fix and calling it done, Schumacher worked through the problem iteratively, incorporating the customer's responses after each test drive to refine the adjustment further. The Chamber highlighted that dedication to safety alongside his creative problem-solving as the core reasons for the honor.

The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce presents the Customer Service Award monthly to recognize local employees who exceed standard expectations in serving the community. Schumacher is the March recipient.
Anyone who knows a Jamestown-area employee deserving of recognition can submit a nomination through jamestownchamber.com, by visiting the Chamber office in person, or by calling 701-252-4830.
