North Dakota Scholarships Open Jan. 1 with $290,000 Available
North Dakota Dollars for Scholars announced Dec. 28, 2025 that it began accepting applications Jan. 1 for roughly $290,000 in scholarships for the 2026-27 academic year. Stutsman County high school seniors, home-educated graduates and current college students are eligible to apply for awards that could ease tuition costs and support vocational training, military families and continuing education.

North Dakota Dollars for Scholars began accepting applications on Jan. 1 for approximately $290,000 in scholarship awards for the 2026-27 academic year, the organization announced Dec. 28, 2025. Individual scholarships will range from $600 to $2,500, and the application window for all North Dakota Dollars for Scholars awards closes April 1, 2026.
The statewide program opened eligibility to every student who graduated from or will graduate this year from a North Dakota high school or a home education program, explicitly including students whose high schools do not host a local Dollars for Scholars chapter. The application pool covers a broad set of categories, including vocational and technical training, awards for military families, community service recognitions and scholarships targeted at students who are continuing college studies.

For students in Stutsman County, the program expands financial options at a time when local employers and schools are seeking both degree-holding and technically trained workers. Scholarships that fund vocational and technical schooling can reduce barriers for residents pursuing trades, healthcare training or technical certifications that feed into the county’s workforce. The inclusion of continuing college students aims to help those who have already started higher education remain enrolled and complete degrees.
Applicants must create a login and build or update a student profile through the statewide Dollars for Scholars portal. That profile is used to match students to scholarships based on personal information and to notify applicants of future opportunities from local chapters. Schools that maintain local chapters will continue to offer school-specific scholarships in addition to the statewide awards, providing another avenue for Stutsman County graduates to secure aid.
The program’s April 1 deadline makes early preparation important for seniors completing the college application cycle and for current students organizing financial aid. The application and full scholarship details are available at northdakota.dollarsforscholars.org, where students can register and complete profiles to be considered for awards.
As the application period proceeds, the distribution of roughly $290,000 across multiple award categories will determine how many local students receive support and which educational pathways are most bolstered. For many Stutsman County households, even modest awards in the $600 to $2,500 range can translate into meaningful relief on tuition, certification costs or course fees, with implications for local education attainment and workforce readiness.
