Pingree-Buchanan School District Honors Third-Quarter Academic Achievers in Grades 7-12
Pingree-Buchanan named third-quarter honor roll students across grades 7-12, sorting achievers into three GPA tiers topped by a perfect 4.0.

Pingree-Buchanan Public School District #10 released its third-quarter honor roll on March 23, recognizing students in grades 7 through 12 for grade-point averages earned across the nine-week grading period.
The district sorted honorees into three distinct tiers. Students who earned a perfect 4.00 GPA were placed on the Straight "A" Honor Roll. Those who finished between 3.67 and 3.99 qualified for the "A" Average Honor Roll, while students carrying a GPA between 3.00 and 3.66 earned placement on the "B" Average Honor Roll.
The cutoffs align directly with the district's published grading scale, under which an A requires scoring between 93.0 and 100 percent, a B falls between 86.0 and 92 percent, and a C ranges from 78.0 to 85 percent. A student must score at least 70 percent to avoid an F under Pingree-Buchanan's standards.
Academic achievement at the district extends beyond quarterly recognition. The Pingree-Buchanan School Board's policy holds that any student capable of college-level work should be permitted to pursue it, and the district participates in the Post-secondary Enrollment Options Program under North Dakota law. Juniors and seniors recommended by a counselor or principal who maintain at least a 3.00 GPA on the 4.00 scale, both in the relevant subject area and cumulatively, are eligible to enroll in post-secondary courses that count toward high school graduation. The district superintendent holds authorization to enter agreements with post-secondary institutions to make that coursework available directly within the high school.
Graduation from Pingree-Buchanan High School requires a minimum of 23 semester units of academic credit, with each student carrying at least six academic classes per semester. Required coursework includes four units of English among the specified course requirements laid out in district policy.
The honor roll is published at the close of each nine-week grading period. The full list of students recognized for the third quarter was included in the district's March 23 announcement.
