Salvation Army in Jamestown opens new service center downtown
The Salvation Army’s downtown move gives Jamestown clients easier access, better parking and room for both fresh and shelf-stable food donations.

The Salvation Army’s new downtown service center is designed to make a week’s worth of help easier to reach. At 300 2nd Ave. NE, Suite 120, one block from its former site, the Jamestown operation now has better accessibility, ADA compliance, improved building features and more convenient parking for clients, donors, volunteers and visitors.
The move was marked May 5 with a ribbon-cutting at the Jamestown Business Center, a step local leaders say will make the nonprofit’s daily work more practical. The newer space is also cheaper to operate, which should leave more room for food assistance and other basic-needs services. The Jamestown Salvation Army can now accept both perishable and non-perishable food donations, an important change for a pantry that depends on steady community support.

That matters in a town where the pantry serves about 30 to 40 families each month. The Salvation Army has long been part of Stutsman County’s safety net, offering help for families and individuals who need food, rent support or utility assistance. In earlier local coverage, the organization was operating from 320 1st Ave. N., where it also provided adult and youth programming. The new address does not change that mission, but it does give the service center a more efficient, welcoming place to carry it out.
Roger Bryant is the point of contact for donation, volunteer and update information. He can be reached at 701-815-0275 or roger.bryant@usc.salvationarmy.org. The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce lists office hours for the new location as Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
For Jamestown residents who rely on the Salvation Army for food or other basic help, the move is more than a new address. It is a practical upgrade to a service that still meets a steady local need, with easier access, better donation handling and lower overhead in the heart of downtown.
