The Stutsman County Fair is getting new support for the activities and improvements that shape the summer experience at the Jamestown fairgrounds, with a grant from the Jamestown Community Foundation aimed at keeping the event strong for local families, 4-H participants and vendors.

The funding is intended to support upcoming activities and improvements tied to the fair, which remains one of Stutsman County’s most familiar public gatherings. For fairgoers, that means the impact should be visible in the parts of the fair that matter most on the ground: the programming, exhibits and facilities that turn the fairgrounds into a busy destination when the gates open.

The fair has long offered a mix of 4-H activities, exhibits, carnival rides, food and nightly bands, drawing a broad cross-section of the community. That lineup helps explain why support for the fair reaches beyond one week of entertainment. When those pieces are strengthened, the benefit runs from young people showing animals or projects through Stutsman County 4-H to the families and vendors who count on steady local attendance.

The fair’s importance is clear in its continuing run. The 127th Stutsman County Fair took place June 25-28, 2025, at the fairgrounds, showing that the event is not a one-off celebration but a durable county institution with deep roots in Jamestown.

The fairgrounds also carry weight throughout the year. BuffaloJam! concerts have been held there, and the site has also hosted community plant giveaways after storm damage, underscoring its role as a flexible public space for Stutsman County. That broader use gives the grant added significance: improvements at the fairgrounds can strengthen more than just one event. They help keep a central community venue ready for the next fair, the next concert and the next gathering that draws Jamestown together.
