Zimmerman’s Furniture named Jamestown Chamber Business of the Month
A same-day recliner repair helped Zimmerman’s Furniture earn Jamestown Chamber Business of the Month, spotlighting the service that keeps 21-year customers coming back.

Zimmerman’s Furniture earned the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Business of the Month award for May after a customer nomination pointed to the kind of fast, personal service that keeps longtime shoppers returning to 118 2nd St. SW.
The most telling example came from a recent recliner service call. The chair was identified, repaired and returned the same day, a small but revealing detail that helped set the nomination apart. The customer who nominated the store said the family moved to Jamestown 21 years ago and quickly found they did not need to shop anywhere else for furniture because Dixie and the Zimmerman’s team kept meeting their needs.
That kind of relationship is exactly what the chamber said it wanted to recognize. The award honors customer service, community spirit and positive local impact, and the chamber’s ambassadors presented it as a public acknowledgment of a business that has consistently gone above and beyond for customers. In a town like Jamestown, where word of mouth still carries real weight, a same-day repair can matter as much as a showroom floor.

The recognition also carries added weight beyond May. Business of the Month recipients are considered for Business of the Year, which is presented at the chamber’s annual banquet. The banquet is the organization’s signature event and also recognizes Customer Service Award recipients, Business of the Month winners and major honors such as Business of the Year, Citizen of the Year and Young Professional of the Year.
Zimmerman’s profile in the chamber directory matches the award’s focus on hands-on service. The business is listed as a furniture and appliance sales, services and repairs operation, with hours from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Zimmerman’s own website says the company is family owned and has served customers since 1995, with locations in multiple North Dakota communities.

For Jamestown, the award underscores a familiar Main Street truth: businesses keep customers not just by staying open, but by solving problems quickly, remembering names and standing behind what they sell. Zimmerman’s latest recognition shows that in Stutsman County, that kind of reliability still resonates.
