Huntington Station Dispute Turns Violent, Man Arrested After Stabbing

Jeremy Jenkins, 22, was arrested Friday after Suffolk County police say he stabbed another man during a dispute on Park Avenue, south of Broadway, in Huntington Station at approximately 8:20 a.m. The victim was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

Suffolk County Police Second Squad detectives are leading the investigation. Jenkins has been charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, and arraignment proceedings are expected to follow as prosecutors complete their case file.

Police indicated the stabbing was not random: the two men were engaged in a dispute at the time of the attack, suggesting prior contact. That distinction will shape the Second Squad's inquiry into the sequence of events, any history between the parties, and whether additional arrests are warranted.

Park Avenue south of Broadway is one of Huntington Station's busier commercial corridors, with consistent foot traffic during weekday mornings. Huntington Station has experienced several knife-related incidents in recent years. In 2024, two teenagers were stabbed near the Huntington Manor Firemen's Fair after a group fight escalated, with a 14-year-old suffering serious injuries.
