Police Offer Reward for Suspects in North New Hyde Park Office Break-In
Two helmeted suspects smashed an ATM, shattered windows, and discharged a fire extinguisher inside a North New Hyde Park office building. Police are offering a cash reward for tips.

Two masked men who smashed an ATM, broke windows and ceiling tiles, and discharged a fire extinguisher inside an office building at 1981 Marcus Avenue in North New Hyde Park are being sought by Nassau County police, who are offering a cash reward through Crime Stoppers for any tip leading to their identification.
The property manager of 1981 Marcus Avenue discovered the destruction on Saturday, March 28, and called 911. Nassau County Police Department's Third Squad, which is leading the investigation, determined that the two suspects had unlawfully entered the building at approximately 5:08 p.m. and damaged multiple areas throughout the premises before fleeing in an unknown direction.
The vandalism went well beyond a standard break-in. The pair destroyed an ATM, broke windows and ceiling tiles, and discharged at least one fire extinguisher before leaving the scene. The combination of targeted damage to the ATM alongside what appears to be indiscriminate destruction throughout the building has not been publicly explained by detectives.
Police released physical descriptions of both suspects. The first is described as a male wearing a black sweatshirt, black sweatpants, gray sandals, a black mask, and a gray bike helmet. The second wore a black jacket, a brown shirt, gray sweatpants, gray sandals, and a black bike helmet. Both men wore bike helmets and gray sandals, details investigators noted prominently, as the helmets may indicate the pair traveled to and from the scene by bicycle while simultaneously shielding their faces from surveillance cameras.
Nassau County Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information that leads to the identification or arrest of either suspect. Callers are not required to identify themselves. Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-244-TIPS (1-800-244-8477) or by dialing 911.
