Suffolk County and JVC Broadcasting have announced Freedom Fest, a free outdoor concert headlined by country star Brett Young, scheduled for July 3 at the Catholic Health Amphitheater at Bald Hill in Farmingville as the county's official celebration of America's 250th anniversary.

The event, presented as part of Suffolk County Executive Ed Romaine's America 250 initiative, will offer up to 7,500 free tickets to Suffolk County residents. Tickets are required due to venue capacity and security restrictions, and organizers are warning that demand is expected to be high. Distribution details have not yet been announced; residents can monitor My Country 96.1, WJVC, and Big 98.1/104.9 FM, or visit ilovesuffolk.com and licountry.com for updates.

Brett Young's headlining set will be followed by a fireworks display produced by the Grucci family. The program will also include opening acts and special guest performances, though no additional names have been announced.

JVC Broadcasting CEO John Caracciolo, whose company is hosting the event, described the scope of the evening in terms that go beyond a standard concert booking. "This is more than a concert, it is a celebration of our nation's history, our veterans, our families, and the spirit of Suffolk County," Caracciolo said. "Freedom Fest will be a signature America 250 event that residents can enjoy at no cost to taxpayers of Suffolk County."

That last point is central to how organizers are framing the event financially. Freedom Fest will be funded entirely through private sponsorships, advertising and community partnerships. Sponsors and partners include the Long Island State Veterans Home, Discover Long Island, Jake's 58, Maggio Environmental, Catholic Health, the Town of Brookhaven and JVC Broadcasting.

County officials say the event is expected to draw thousands of residents for what organizers are billing as Suffolk County's largest Independence Day celebration. The Catholic Health Amphitheater at Bald Hill, set against open sky in Farmingville, provides a natural stage for the Grucci family's fireworks finale, which has become a marquee element of major Long Island civic events.
