Two Men Shot While Driving on Sagtikos Parkway, Detectives Seek Tips

Two related men, both 24 years old, were shot while driving separate vehicles northbound on the Sagtikos State Parkway in Brentwood early Friday morning in what police described as a targeted attack, and Suffolk County First Squad detectives are now asking the public for help identifying those responsible.

The shooting happened around 4 a.m. on March 13, approximately a quarter-mile north of Pine Aire Drive, when someone in a third vehicle opened fire on the two men. Police have not released a description of the suspect vehicle, and no arrests had been reported as of Friday.

Despite their wounds, both victims drove themselves from the scene to seek medical attention. One man, shot in the lower back, drove to the Suffolk County Police's Second Precinct in Huntington, where officers helped him before he was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment. The second victim, struck by bullets in the wrist and thigh, drove himself directly to Huntington Hospital. Police described both men's injuries as non-life-threatening.

The two victims' exact relationship was not disclosed, and neither has been identified by name. No weapon description or details about the occupants of the suspect vehicle have been made public.
