Kyla Hall arrested for stealing seven Simon Pearce trees from Quechee home
Hartford Police arrested 32-year-old Kyla Hall of Sunapee on Feb. 19 after recovering seven Simon Pearce glass Christmas trees, including a custom-made piece, from her vehicle.

Hartford Police took 32-year-old Kyla Hall of Sunapee, New Hampshire, into custody on Feb. 19 after an undercover investigation recovered seven Simon Pearce glassware Christmas trees reported stolen from a Quechee residence. Hall was charged with grand larceny and receiving and sale of stolen property and was issued a citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Windsor Criminal Division, on March 31.
Police records show the initial theft was reported Feb. 3 by a rental property manager in Quechee who had recently terminated Hall from the cleaning staff. The complainant told investigators that seven Simon Pearce glass Christmas trees, including one custom-made tree, were missing from the rental property.
The custom piece in the recovered group carries special provenance: "The custom-made tree was only produced for senior leadership in the company and never sold commercially." A Simon Pearce employee alerted senior leadership after hearing Hall was attempting to sell several trees and notified them when one matched the description of that custom model, with investigators reporting that "all other custom-made trees were accounted for."
Investigators secured digital leads before the arrest. "Police obtained screenshots from January showing Hall offering seven glass Christmas trees for sale that matched those reported stolen," according to the investigative summary. Hartford Police Criminal Investigation Division detectives then worked undercover to arrange a purchase and to verify the listings.
Hall agreed to meet investigators at Dunkin’ in White River Junction, and officers met her at the agreed location on Feb. 19. "Investigators from the Hartford Police Criminal Investigation Division, operating in an undercover capacity, contacted Hall to arrange a purchase," and at the meeting officers "confirmed the presence of the stolen items and arrested her without incident." Following the arrest, "the trees were recovered from her vehicle pursuant to a Vermont Superior Court search warrant."
The charges against Hall are limited in the current record to grand larceny and receiving and sale of stolen property; court paperwork issued a March 31 appearance date at the Windsor Criminal Division. The materials provided to police and the court include the January screenshots and the items recovered from Hall’s vehicle, though the police summary does not list a dollar value for the seven trees or say whether Hall was held in custody after arrest.
Hartford Police CID led the operation that produced the evidence and recovery in White River Junction, and the case will proceed to the Windsor Criminal Division on March 31 for further proceedings.
