Newport Opera House Hosts 4th Annual Taste of Sullivan County This April
Sullivan County artisans bring food and spirited beverage samplings to Newport's Main Street on April 12, with two tasting sessions and live music from songwriter Scott Forrest.

The Newport Opera House, the historic civic building and performing arts venue at 20 Main Street in the heart of downtown Newport, Sullivan County's seat, will host the 4th Annual Taste of Sullivan County on Sunday, April 12, with two tasting sessions structured back to back across the afternoon.
The event features food and spirited beverage samplings created by Sullivan County artisans, with New England singer-songwriter Scott Forrest, who carries an opera-trained voice and award-winning songwriting credentials, providing live music throughout both sessions. The first tasting runs from 2:00 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., followed immediately by a second session from 3:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
Tickets are limited, and the event is restricted to attendees ages 21 and over. A valid photo ID is required for admission. No ticket price was announced in the Opera House's community announcement, which was posted March 23 as part of a broader overview of spring and summer 2026 programming. Tickets and additional information are available through the Newport Opera House at 603-863-2412; the box office opens one hour before events.
The event is underwritten through a generous donation from Eastern Propane & Oil, a regional sponsor whose support has helped sustain the Opera House's community-focused programming.
The Newport Opera House has long served as the center of entertainment in Sullivan County, with the present building completed in 1886 and a stage once billed as the largest in New England north of Boston. Now in its fourth year, the Taste of Sullivan County has become one of the signature events on the Opera House calendar, spotlighting the county's food and drink artisans in an intimate, ticketed setting.
